The event has ended and we enclose our video here on the event for your viewing. In case it does not load below, the link to the video is at https://youtu.be/F1Ic-PQjM_8.
Aside from the gifts of umbrella and recyclable shopping bag given away, we also gave bonus gifts during this event. We allowed people to post on our event page about their giving story and their giving story will be mentioned in our blog here.
Jen Gumienny who is from Canada and traveling around Asia, sent us a link to a video about an airline company organising a Christmas celebration for folks at a town in Canada who suffered the misfortune of losing their homes. They received a surprise gift each and free flight tickets. Jen celebrated Christmas in Penang this year. She wrote, “In Canada this is a recent story of amazing giving. This town Fort McMurray had a devastating fire and families lost everything. Our local airline decided to give back… beautiful story“.
Paul Ang, who is a photographer who has photographed for our previous event wrote, “…Every year, the residents will head out of the (Penang Cheshire) Home to spread joy and liven up the spirits of others during this joyful season through their singing and merriment in a fundraising project. The residents visit a vast variety of venues… Passers-by… also donate to this fundraising project. We volunteer our help… The home always welcomes help from all… (and) can be reached at 04-2283319. I personally help the Home directly in supporting their scout troop and their activities… So if you are a scout and would love to help us out, you can reach me directly too“. Paul can be contacted via his Facebook profile page, which can be seen in our Facebook event page.
