Emcee M.Y. has started her dance performance again a few years ago. She did not fully stop dancing but had to stop performing for a few years due to health reasons. We are happy to have her back to perform. Let us take a look at her Glowing Moonball Dance. This is her original choreography, specially performed solo by Emcee M.Y. herself. It is a fusion dance of modern and traditional Chinese dance. She has two versions of this dance, as seen in the video. One version is modern jazz mixed with Chinese traditional dance, where she is wearing flat dance shoes. Another version is in heels. This was outdoors because it was in line with a celebration regarding the moon, and with the blessings of the moon, magically the moonlight was shining bright in the area where she performed that night. You would have been able to tell that the name of the dance is moon ball, so it has something to do with the moon.
Emcee M.Y.’s dress in this dance is the same one seen in one of our previous pictures shown about her speaking in the United Kingdom in 2005 during a dinner celebration which had stage performances. The picture was not too clear due to the megapixels of a media capturing device back in 2005 and she was captured in the media from far away on the stage. Now you get to see the dress up close and clearer in this video. The dress has beautifully held up after all these years.
If you are thinking if Emcee M.Y. was emceeing that night, no she was not. We mentioned she was speaking, and people seeing that she is an emcee, would just assume she was emceeing. Do not simply assume and come up with your own assumptions. The emcees during that event are hot shot lawyers now. So if you are wondering if she was not emceeing, then why would she be speaking on stage ? It is because she was giving a speech. Is giving a speech not speaking? If it is not speaking, then is giving a speech considered eating ? That event was created by her in the United Kingdom and she was chairing a committee set up just for this event. She was leading a society at that time, which she led them to victory that year to win the Best Society of the Year. It was a dinner event with stage performances such as dancing, singing and fashion show, showcasing arts and culture, in particular Malaysian culture which has so many different ethnicities. Not only did they support arts and culture, they brought Malaysia to be seen by the world at that time because the event was attended by locals in the United Kingdom, international guests from different parts of the world and of course Malaysians. This is not our owner’s only event that she has done since young, there were many more of different types and different sizes.
All these without any government funding, no grants whatsoever. All from the people involved, from their own pockets (remember, we were Malaysians in the United Kingdom, so the exchange rate from Ringgit to Pounds is something to be noted), their own effort to get the proceeds from the events. Some of them put in more work than some others and there are the usual people who do not do anything much with no money contributions but want to take credit. They still exist even in the current time of us planning events, so we declare that these kind of people who contribute nothing of significance but want to take from others, take credit or worse still, do a poor job, we do not accept you to be part of Myle Enterprise’s activities or projects. That team back in 2005 was a rather smart team where most of them knew what to do, minus a few loose stools that should be gotten rid of for their lack of effort. An example is this person that was her assistant in the committee, who does not do anything much and will ask her “why should I do it” if she tells him to go do his job. This is the type of person who wants the title and to take credit but do not want to put in the work. It is something like a boss hires a maid to clean the office. When the maid goes to the office, she sits on the sofa and starts watching drama. The boss asks her to clean the floor, she asks the boss why. The boss go and clean the office himself but pay her to salary, is it ? Then have a maid for what. It is also the same person who was supposed to be her partner for a duo dance during this event but he lacked the height, the physical strength to do a duo dance and he did not even put in any effort to source for his costumes for the performances. Emcee M.Y. was supposed to dance this Chinese dance you see in this video here, 20 years ago to a famous Chinese song which we swapped for an original song here to avoid copyright issues. When Emcee M.Y. tested out her duo choreography 20 years ago, that person was so clumsy and had no physical strength to carry her like in duo dances, so much so that the stage coordinator who was watching the two of them practice said that he looked like he was going to drop Emcee M.Y. because his hands were shaking so much. The person did not even take the initiative to exercise and buff up before the performance. So Emcee M.Y. decided to call off this duo dance and told her coordinator to remove it from the stage lineup. Luckily she had another dance lined up on that event night so she still got the dance performance experience in the United Kingdom. The perks of being the decision maker. Anything can be included or removed but fairly, other people were given the chance to perform too as long as it is relevant to the theme. So when someone says they cannot slot in something or make changes, we will wonder if that person was even relevant to begin with. People should not get in the way of another person and be more mindful. Emcee M.Y.’s dance means a lot to her and what was meant to be hers shall always be hers. She finally completed this dance 20 years later. This time, she removed that good for nothing person and she did a solo. She incorporated the moon ball to make it a fusion dance. Some people should have been removed long time ago especially if they are not putting in any effort and not contributing, or worse still affecting someone else detrimentally.
Back to this dinner event in the United Kingdom. Mind you, we were not all in the events line but we had a mission and most of us had the mindset to do our best in whatever we do. Perhaps we also had the passion for performing but some of us were forced to go into the professional field. We feel that experience beats certification any time because with some people may be certified in something that they do not enjoy doing, so they do not do their best. During our younger times, we did these charities without receiving any payment and that was what built our experiences be it in events or performances. Through hands-on, real experiences with sweat and tears. That is why we can charge more due to our better experiences. Nowadays, these newbies and youngsters, do not even have any experiences, yet dare to demand for payment but deliver very poor work some more can scold the boss. Seems like the standard of people in events and performances nowadays has dropped with people slacking in their job or if they are volunteering, they are not sincerely helping. It needs to be known that if you think she needed those people in the society that time, no. She owes you all nothing. While she lined up all the people on stage to say thank you, it would be good if you thank her for once. You have to realise that she is also contributing her own energy, time and money to that society. That is not her business and it was an organisation. As though whatever you all did made her a lot of money nor did it bring in a lot of profit that she can keep for herself. It goes to the organisation, charity and whatever entities involved during those activities. That society was also new at that time, so basically the organisation itself was poor and the people in there used their own funds including Emcee M.Y. back then had to use her own funds or given to her from her family or so, not from the society. You do realize that she can always use the fund she has (not the society’s funds) to invest in herself, learn dancing, go travel or to use her time to practice dance, exercise or study and not to give it to the society. Her family do not owe the society anything and she was their child which they have the responsibility to take care of, not necessarily to take care of others. Yet their funds were used to help that society that brought about many benefits, so may all blessings be returned to her family. There was once in her life where she included other people not because she needed them but because she did not mind sharing and wanted them to feel included. These people who were involved and performed get to put in their profile their achievements so if she does not want to create an event, which takes up a lot of energy, it is their loss. Seems like people started to think that they were so wanted and some started acting like divas. Nevermind, since that was what you all thought, so once again, that was your assumption and you did not ask so that you can be clear. Many people took her for granted. So after all these years, Emcee M.Y. has been training to go solo and she has finally levelled up. Take for example, this video is created and edited by her, choreographed and danced by her, dance costumes, props and accessories all sourced and got ready by her, as well as the music. While this might not be the ideal type of business for those bigger businesses, let us manage our own business our own way. We came to this world alone and we leave this world alone. If you think you can bring anyone else or any physical items you accumulated on Earth when you leave this world, then go ahead with your thoughts. Do not take too much from the world if not you might take some debts with you which would be a wonder how you would need to repay them. One day when you get to this level of thinking, you will understand the law of reciprocity. Most of the work at Myle Enterprise was done by her, anyway. If anyone wants to claim credit that they have contributed something, come and tell us directly and we will show you what you have received in return, mostly our contribution far surpassing what you have given. Will you then pay us back for what you have received if it is extra ? There is no free lunch when it comes to business. What was taken will need to be returned. It is simple now – you pay us the money, we provide the services. That is also called taking and giving, trading or business. We take your money, you receive the services in return. We would also appreciate that people do not simply believe anyone else’s stories before asking for proof and confirming with us. As you know, there are unscrupulous people who like to spread rumours and tarnish other people’s images.
This is what she wants to say about current charity organisations – we are not the same. Some of these people from the current charities expects people to give to them the moment they open their palm and ask for money or anything, just because they think they are entitled as a charity. You think she does not know how to run organisations, societies or do charity. If these people show that they are so charitable and part of the charity, then give, do not just take. When Emcee M.Y. does charity personally, it comes from her own pocket and her own effort. When done at Myle Enterprise, if we want to involve a charity we seek for a win-win situation, not just you take and benefit but at the cost of our loss. You have to understand we are a business, so we need to receive in return and in the first place, we do not need to involve any charity organisations. We can always do our services without you and earn more, so do not ever think that you have done a lot for us – it was probably the other way round. Realise this. Even big businesses that do charity as their Corporate Social activity, they get something in return say the publicity, tax relief or so. Emcee M.Y. is done with this type of charity-from-own-pocket thing for now. She needs to receive money and blessings. Enough of her just giving. Now at Myle Enterprise, we cannot be expected to carry on with that type of business model because we are not a charity and we need to be paid properly. Myle Enterprise and Emcee M.Y. are not your free salesperson, advertisement and marketing staff or free promoter whereby you think that Myle Enterprise have the obligation to get all the sales while you rest on your laurels and demand to be paid or to take from us. No. Just because Emcee M.Y. did some types of work charity when younger for example getting donations for them, it does not mean that she likes to do it now or she might not even have enjoyed it back then, so she will not do it now. If we promote you, then who is going to promote Emcee M.Y. and Myle Enterprise? You speak, so does Emcee M.Y. You dance, so does Emcee M.Y. You do events, so does Myle Enterprise. Then why do we need to promote you and we have to give away our opportunity, is it ? That was what many people expected us to do. Some people’s level of entitlement are just beyond logic. Did anyone who has received the benefit from us especially when they did not pay us, return the favour and give us back the benefit? When Emcee M.Y.’s health was affected, did you pay back for it ? So she now focuses on her own matters and business. Her time is not yours. What is taken will need to be returned.
Sometimes the people who do great things are not needed to be known and seen by the masses. It was recognised by the necessary people at that time, so that is more valuable. So Emcee M.Y. has contributed to the country she grew up in and also to the society, more than you know. While we see a lot of people saying they are patriotic to their country, contribute to the society and all the talk but it is better to show it in action. We have not told you this before about Emcee M.Y.’s past experience so now you know our owner is indeed very experienced with event planning experiences and performing not only locally in Malaysia, but also overseas. You have all been playing with someone who has done great things before that not many ordinary people can even access but you did not know. We will not tolerate your disrespect. She will not come cheap and do not take up her time if you are not adding value to her. She is not your free worker nor does she have any obligations to do anything for any companies, organisations or anyone unless you have hired her and paid her the appropriate fees. She has already mastered these skills long time ago and she has continued gaining more knowledge, that is why she is worth much more. This being said, those people who are new to events or performing, do not demand a lot when you have not even gained enough experience yet and be thankful if she teaches you for she does not need to if you are not paying her. Her involvement with societies, her doing charity and contributing on her own accord is in the past. In case you forgot, she is at Myle Enterprise since 2013 and we are a business that have the right to receive funding, income and profit as deemed fit. Our owner has worked with big groups as well as smaller groups before, even leading groups to victory but she now chooses to keep it lean and neat. It is her own choice because Myle Enterprise belongs to her, not you. We also do not want any talents now nor do we need manpower, partner or anything of that sort. If you are thinking she is still living in the past and wants to do whatever event or so she has done before, that is your own assumption once again. She is perfectly happy to perform solo now.
The glowing moon ball you see in this video was created and put together by Emcee M.Y. She can create the dance props and dance accessories for dances. She also sourced and got all the costumes, shoes as well as fashion accessories herself. Sometimes she buys the dance props and accessories ready made but some are created by herself. This applies to her costumes as well. While this dress was bought, Emcee M.Y. can create her own dance costumes and clothes. Her first brush with fashion designing was in 1999 when she designed her own evening dress but it was made by an experienced, retired tailor which was her mother. She designed a few more clothes after that before she had to leave the world of performing arts and her creative skills was packed up to be kept in the tentatively-closed closet. Well, it is out of the closet. Creativity is always her forte, so it was always what she had within her. All the different knowledge from different fields she had learnt is what makes her have the upper advantage above all and that is why she is so valuable. In the past decade, Emcee M.Y. has learnt a new skill and she now can go hands-on to create her costumes from the designing stage, to choosing the fabric / textiles, create the costume until the finished product of the clothing is obtained. Currently she only designs for herself.
Can you recognize one of the dresses in the picture below ? It was worn in one of the pictures here of her performance in the United Kingdom. That night, she wore a customized evening dress from Malaysia, made with love by her mother who had to come out of retirement to make it for her (which had to be posted from Malaysia to the United Kingdom because it was kept in Malaysia); a pants which was part of a customized suit made by a generational bespoke tailor in Malaysia which was a gift from her father; and the blue dress of her own choosing, which was made in England and altered to fit her nicely – also covered by her family. We owe the society nothing and in fact, we have given. Be of value and give before you even ask for anything. The different clothes change because there were a few stage performances and activities that night. With this, you can see that Malaysian costumes and fashion were featured during that event. Those were Emcee M.Y.’s younger days so not her family now that should do this. Of course now that it is business, the dance fees you pay Emcee M.Y. to perform will need to cover her costumes, accessories and props. You should understand the amount of effort taken to obtain them. There can also be sponsorships or companies that are willing to pay for us to advertise them. We have no need to feature anyone or company for free.
